Direct with us

Whether you're a seasoned director or new to the role Kauri would love to hear from you!

Directing a production takes many hours within different areas – planning, stage, set, music, chorography, costumes, technical and creative effects. Therefore, it is imperative to have:

  • Excellent organisation skills

  • A clear vision of what they want to achieve

  • A willingness to accept the limitations of the theatre space available and all costs involved (i.e. keeping to a budget)

  • A comprehensive/detailed schedule

  • Excellent communication skills

  • A confirmed list of potential creative team members

  • A strong commitment to the time required throughout

  • Leadership potential

  • Good people skills (empathy, strength, encouragement)

Kauri wants to encourage new and inexperienced directors, production members, and cast while providing a high level of professionalism and excellence.
